HANNAH PARISH-DUNSWORTH, MA, LPCC

No matter where we’ve been, everybody longs to feel heard and understood. When you’re going through a difficult time, being able to process your emotions with someone and form a trusting relationship with them can be incredibly healing. I look forward to walking alongside you in this journey and hearing about your experience. I practice therapy from an open, affirming perspective that places you at the center. As you come to my office, I hope you’ll find a safe, creative space to bring your whole self.

In my practice, I provide individual and partner therapy to people who are age 16 and older. I have a special interest in working with the following groups: artists, couples, performers, young adults, neurodiverse folks, health care and mental health providers, lawyers, and individuals coping with chronic illness. I identify as queer and have a special interest in working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks. I also have special interest in working with teenagers who are transitioning and are looking for a gender-affirming therapist.

I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Minnesota and a Licensed Out-Of-State Telehealth Provider in the state of Florida. My therapeutic work is guided by Existential, Psychodynamic, Acceptance & Commitment, Cognitive Processing Therapy, DBT, and Person-Centered Therapy. Attachment, gender-and-queer-affirming, and multicultural theories are central to my work as well. I have specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention for obsessions and compulsions.

I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina and still love hiking and playing music. When I am not practicing therapy, I can be found trying delicious new foods or playing with my lovable, misbehaving dog. I’m so looking forward to hearing your story over a cup of tea or coffee in my office soon.
