Lauren Jasperson, MS, LADC, LPCC
I am a dual licensed therapist who is passionate about meeting clients where they are at and providing a nonjudgmental environment for each unique individual can be heard. I strive to build a supportive, affirming, and collaborative therapeutic alliance to empower clients to uncover their own authenticity, work toward goals, and instill hope.
Making the choice to start therapy is not an easy task and requires a lot of courage to ask for help. We all are trying to do the best we can to take care of ourselves but sometimes we can fall short. This is understandable, especially if we do not have the proper tools our environment didn’t teach us didn’t teach us the most effective forms of coping. The good news is therapy provides the space to reflect on old patterns, and behaviors, and begin to ask ourselves, “is this working for me anymore”? If the answer is no, let’s take a look at it.
I have experience working with clients from a variety of backgrounds who struggle with various symptoms including but not limited to anxiety, panic, OCD, depression, low self-esteem, ambiguous loss, substance use, adjustment to life changes, interpersonal challenges, and work-related stressors.
One of my top values as a clinician is to continue to learn, grow and provide the most effective evidence-based treatment for the clients I serve. I have training in Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (EXRP) which is primarily used to treat symptoms of OCD, panic, and phobias. My training was completed through the Center for Anxiety & Behavior Therapy. In addition to EXRP, my therapeutic approaches are primarily client centric focusing on what fits you best. Some approaches I utilize are psychodynamic, DBT, CBT, ACT, strengths based, solution focused, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy.
I provide therapy to adults, and I have special interests in working with folks within the healthcare field, college students, young adults working to build independence, the LGBTQIA+ community, and individuals wanting to gain useful coping skills. I also enjoy supporting clients experiencing concerns related to anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, perinatal mental health, grief and loss, and substance use.
